Una mattina mi son svegliato…
…in Pula, just to take a photo of a children playing some funny games in this old building. She is holding a butterfly and calling him to come and see the secret. He wears some old Converse t-shirt with blue star which can also be red if you imagine, and hesitates because some strange guy is taking a photo of him in that very moment.
I like this photo because of his shirt and her butterfly, because of wooden doors which can be stairways too and because of that single cabbage leaf on the floor resembling some flower from the song…
I like it because this building is just a few steps away from the old hotel where James Joyce and his Nora have lived for five months in 1904, teaching English at a Berlitz school.
I like it because my grandpa loved this song. Long time ago, when I asked him why were he a communist, he looked at me and said: no, I am not a communist, I’m just a partisan.
